Specialty courses are an excellent way to improve your scuba skills while
learning new skills and developing a better understanding of the underwater
world. Whether you are new to diving or an experienced veteran, specialty
courses teach you proper technique and safe diving practices. Check out the

The Advanced Dive Theory Distinctive Specialty is a non-diving, knowledge development program for divers or
non-divers interesting in expanding their understanding of dive theory.
The course is designed to run in conjunction with the PADI Advanced Open
Water course, though the Advanced open water dives are not required for
the this certification. In this course, students learn dive theory without having to qualify for or enter the
PADI Divemaster program. The course covers dive physics, diving and human physiology, dive equipment, decompression theory, use of the PADI RDPs, and the ocean
environment. For this reason, this course is ideal for those interested
in technical diving and dive leadership.

Learn deep diving theory and techniques in this PADI specialty course. Students are asked to view the PADI Deep
Diver video, attend one classroom session on deep diving theory and
techniques, and complete a total of four deep dives over two days. Conditions
permitting, dives are made to 100' and 80' on the first day, and 130'
and 80' on the second day.

Digital photography has come to the underwater world. Whether you are a
novice just interested in finding out more or an aspiring underwater
photographer, this class is the place to start. You will learn camera assembly and maintenance as well
as basic digital underwater photography techniques. In addition, you
will learn about digital file formats, resolution, exposure,
composition, underwater lighting, and more. If you are not getting the
quality underwater pictures you want, this class will help.
Students are asked to attend classroom sessions on digital underwater photography theory and techniques,
and complete up to two photo dives. Generally, Dive 1 is performed in confined
water, and Dive 2 is always performed in open water.

Books: Digital Underwater Photographer Crew Pack
Course cost: $125 (books, film, and equipment rental not included; cameras will be provided with prior notice)
Learn proper care and maintenance as well as how to safely plan and execute dives using diver propulsion vehicles in this
PADI specialty course. Students attend one classroom session where they review
the Diver Propulsion Vehicles chapter in the PADI Adventures in Diving manual and learn about the vehicles. Then it's out to open water for two
exciting dives.

Learn proper care and maintenance as well as
how to safely dive a dry suit in this PADI specialty course. Students attend at least one classroom session where they review
dry suit care and maintenance by reading the PADI Dry Suit Diver manual. There is also one
required pool session where basic
buoyancy skills are learned. Then it's out to open water for two exciting dives.

Learn Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) diving theory and techniques in this PADI specialty course.
Enriched Air Nitrox diving is quickly becoming
the breathing gas of choice for serious Lake Michigan and Caribbean divers.
Students are asked to view the PADI Enriched Air Diver video and
complete the knowledge reviews in their Enriched Air Manual prior to class.
During the classroom session, students review their completed knowledge reviews,
learn enriched air skills such as gas analysis and proper documentation,
successfully complete
the EANx Specialty Exam, and perform two simulated dives using EANx.

The PADI Equipment Maintenance Specialist course is an introduction to the operation and proper maintenance of scuba equipment.
Participants will learn about the principles and operation of diving equipment,
recommended care and maintenance procedures, common problems with equipment,
and recommended professional maintenance procedures. This course also
provides divers with simple suggestions for comfortable equipment configurations
and an introduction to new equipment. One optional confined water dive
may be included
in the course to allow participants to try out new equipment.

DAN´s Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries Provider Course or the PADI
Oxygen Provider Course represents entry level training designed to educate the general diving (and qualified non-diving) public in recognizing possible dive related injuries and providing emergency oxygen first aid while activating the local emergency medical services (EMS) and/or arranging for evacuation to the nearest available medical facility.

The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course assists all divers in polishing their buoyancy control beyond the Open
Water Diver level. The goal of this course is to enhance buoyancy control
abilities through knowledge development and skills practice. Students are
asked to view the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy video, attend
a classroom session, and perform two open water dives focused on improving
buoyancy skills.

What was that creature I just saw? Learn to identify aquatic life and more! This course is an introduction to aquatic
life including an overview of responsible human interactions. Students
learn techniques, problems, and hazards of diving in different aquatic
environments. In addition, the course provides an overview of major aquatic
life groups (kingdoms and phyla). Students are asked to view a marine
life video, attend one classroom session on aquatic life interactions,
and complete a total of two dives during which they must identify vertebrates,
invertebrates, and plants and observe marine creature behavior.

Be the diver everyone wants to follow and make your sense of direction legendary with the PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course! Underwater navigation can be challenging, but in this course, you master the challenge. You learn the tools of the trade, including navigation via natural clues and by compass. You learn to estimate distance underwater, follow navigation patterns and know where you are while following an arbitrary, irregular course using the Nav-Finder. When everyone’s buzzing about a reef or checking out a wreck, they’re having a great time – until it’s time to go. Then they turn to you, because as a PADI Underwater Navigator, you know the way back to the boat!

Diver video, attend one classroom session on wreck diving theory and
techniques, and complete a total of four wreck dives. Dives progress from
recognizing potential hazards, to mapping, to running wreck reel lines, and
finally to wreck penetration. Join us for this course and the most exciting diving in the Midwest.
