PADI Professional Level Courses
Your journey into dive leadership starts with the PADI Divemaster course, progresses to the PADI Assistant Instructor course,
and wraps up with the Instructor Development Course (IDC). If you are interested
in turning your dive adventures into a career, Aquatic Adventures can help you
make your dream a reality. Check out the class descriptions below to find out
more about how you can become a dive professional.
Professional Level Courses Offered at Aquatic Adventures:
The PADI Divemaster course prepares students for a professional career in recreational scuba. Students learn how to plan professionally led dives, manage other divers in the water, and serve as certified assistants to PADI instructors during training activities. Students are required to demonstrate mastery of scuba skills
and swimming proficiency. They are also expected to possess a knowledge of dive physics, physiology, equipment,
decompression theory, and the use of both the DSAT dive tables and the eRDPML. Students who complete this certification become PADI members.
Divers interested in entering the Divemaster program at Aquatic Adventures
should email us at staff@dive-aai.com
and schedule a time to meet with our director of training. Our Divemaster
program is largely independent study, and the schedule is tailored to meet the
needs of each candidate. Students can begin training at any time, but we
encourage those wishing to get formal training in the general theory portion of
the course to register in January when we offer the
Advanced Dive Theory specialty course. This course is offered free of charge
to all students registered for our Divemaster program.

The PADI Assistant Instructor course is designed to train PADI Divemasters in how to teach PADI scuba courses. Students are asked to conduct academic, confined water, and open water presentations. They are evaluated on their ability to follow the PADI microteaching approach to instruction. Once certified, PADI Assistant Instructors are allowed to teach the academic portion of the Open Water Diver course under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor and conduct the surface skills portion of open water training dives. In addition, Assistant Instructors may certify students in non-diving specialties such as
Project AWARE and Coral Reef Conservation. They may also certify divers in Peak
Performance Buoyancy under the indirect supervision of a PADI instructor.
Following completion of specialty instructor training, Assistant Instructors can
certify divers in courses such as Equipment Specialist, Digital Underwater
Photography, and Oxygen Administration. The Assistant Instructor course is also an excellent way for Instructor candidates to prepare for an IDC.
