Venture Crew Holds First Meeting

On Thursday evening, prospective members of the Aquatic Adventures Scuba Diving Venture Crew met for an informational meeting. Those in attendance were introduced to the Venturing program, the adult leaders, and the activities under consideration for the upcoming year.

Among those on hand were Bob Anderson, District Director of the Boy Scouts of America, Waukesha County, who explained the Venturing program. The meeting was led by Jerry Otte, Manager of Training and Education at Aquatic Adventures, and Sally Keppert, Business Operations Manager at Aquatic Adventures.

The following decisions regarding the new Venture Crew were agreed to at this meeting:

• New members and others interested in the program will be invited to try scuba at a Discover Scuba program to be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1 at the South Shore YMCA.
• The first organizational meeting for the new Crew will be held on January 8, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at Aquatic Adventures. At this meeting, members will plan activities for the upcoming year. Since most members were not certified divers, a major activity for the spring will be attending a PADI Open Water Diver course.
• Future meetings of the Crew will take place on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.
